To meet that mission, we’re creating engaging opportunities for our youth to connect with Maryland’s waterways by designing experiences that ignite a passion and appreciation for them.
Through educational and engagement programs, and support for other like-minded organizations, we are revitalizing engagement with Maryland’s waterways in an age where less time is spent outdoors and more time is spent in front of screens. We’re proud of the work we’ve accomplished and the impact we’ve made in our community, and with your support, we can continue our work in protecting one of the State’s most precious resources.
In the past three years, more than 3,000 students have participated in the educational programs and field trips we’ve helped create and offer — providing greater access and exposure to our waterways.
We are a strong supporter of our community and its organizations, and since 2015, have invested more than $50,000 in local schools, events and non-profits to help protect Maryland’s environment and waterways.
In collaboration with the Oyster Recovery Partnership, we developed a unique, oyster-based curriculum — currently offered in eight Anne Arundel and Baltimore County schools — and are working with educators to expand the curriculum to other Maryland schools.
Growing up and living on the water, ClearShark H2O's co-founders, Martin and Nichole Bentz, saw first-hand the many benefits Maryland's waterways offered to the community and its youth. They understood the importance of protecting it, which inspired the founding of ClearShark H2O and its focus on connecting the community to its waterways.
ClearShark H2O is the first initiative of ClearShark Charitable Foundation, a non-profit established by Martin and Nichole Bentz. Martin Bentz is also the CEO and Founder of ClearShark, LLC, a leading cybersecurity and IT solutions provider in Hanover, Maryland.
